What we check first on a Yamaha
- Suspension. The stock fork on MT-07 and similar mid-range models is soft from the factory. Fresh oil at the right interval — and, if you want, firmer springs — changes the bike more than any other single job.
- Chain and sprockets. Torquey twins eat chains faster than the mileage suggests. Slack check belongs in every service.
- Valve clearances. On R-series sport engines the check interval matters more than on a commuter — the consequences of skipping it are more expensive.
- Cooling system. Coolant condition and radiator cleanliness, which matters in Tbilisi summer traffic more than in the manual’s home market.

Frequent questions
Is the MT-07 fork really worth upgrading?
It depends how you ride. For city use fresh oil is usually enough; if you ride mountain roads two-up, firmer springs are the single best money you can spend on that bike.
Do you work on NMAX and XMAX?
Yes — scooter work is on the scooter page: variator, belt, rollers and electrics.
How often does a Ténéré need attention if I tour on gravel?
Sooner than the book says. Air filter, chain and wheel bearings take the beating on gravel — send us your route plan and we will tell you what to check before you leave.
