What we check first on a Suzuki
- Carburettors on the older range. Bandit, early SV650 and similar bikes respond dramatically to a proper clean and synchronisation — most “tired engine” complaints on these end here.
- Charging circuit. On sport models from the 2000s the regulator-rectifier is a standard checkpoint before chasing electrical gremlins elsewhere.
- Chain, sprockets and rear suspension linkage. The linkage bearings are easy to forget and unpleasant when seized.
- V-Strom touring prep. Wheel bearings, chain, brake fluid and tires before a long trip — this bike gets ridden far, so it gets checked properly.

Frequent questions
My SV650 idles badly after standing all winter. Is that the carburettors?
Usually yes — stale fuel and blocked jets. A clean and sync fixes most of it; we check the charging system at the same time since the symptoms overlap.
Do you prepare V-Stroms for long trips?
Yes, and we prioritise travellers whose dates are fixed. Tell us the route and the departure date.
Are parts for older Suzukis a problem here?
Consumables no. Model-specific bodywork for older generations can take longer to arrive — the quote carries the real delivery date.
