- Valve clearances on the boxers. The interval is long, the consequence of skipping it is not. On a bought-used GS with no paperwork this is the first check.
- Final drive and driveshaft. Oil condition and play in the drive — the part owners of chain bikes never think about and BMW owners must.
- Diagnostics before parts. There is a lot of electronics here, and guessing gets expensive fast. We read the fault memory before touching anything.
- Suspension service. On the GS the suspension does real work; fresh oil and healthy seals change the bike noticeably.
